what led to aluminium foils discovery?
before aluminium foil was invented people used to use tinfoil, but it always gave a tin like taste to
the food the tin foil was wrapped around, and tin foil would always
become brittle and it was a lot thicker than aluminium foil, they took out a patent in 1910 for a better and faster rolling process to make Aluminium foil and opened the first aluminium rolling plant in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. It didn't give food an after-taste,
it was thin and was also able to be used as a protective barrier. It became
so popular in a short amount of time, even a year later the chocolate
company Tobler, used Aluminium foil to wrap their chocolates, Toblerone,
and in 1912 Maggi started using it to pack their soups.by the mid-1900s coloured, printed and embossedfoil was being produced.
